People started to think that the power to heal, the power to feed wasn’t Jesus’ power, but their own. They taught their children the same, and hung a millstone around their own necks and in the 20th century they plunged into an ocean of blood. The power to heal became the power to kill – kill even the very, very young. The power to feed became the power to intoxicate, and kill millions more.

The Church hasn’t been just sitting around. Layer upon layer of protection against unclean spirits has been put in place, and remains in place to this day. We all walk by hundreds of people every day in whom Jesus is alive and vigorously active. There is a red candle burning next to the place where Jesus is physically present in Catholic Churches all over the world. Millions of people will receive the very life of Jesus in their hands today.

Some don’t understand what sort of man Jesus is. They don’t accept what sort of man He is. They don’t come, they don’t kneel, they don’t ask. And so they don’t receive His mighty acts of power. Power happens when we recognize what sort of man Jesus is. He is the man who is also God.

The Church - an institution that is already very good at bringing people together, creating bonds that help, heal and hope.

Jesus has power to heal, power to forgive, power to cleanse, power to save – but only for people who will make up their minds to trust Him.

Crowds don’t always mean people are interested in enlightenment. Sometimes they mean just the opposite.
