Pluralists can’t account for non-material realities like numbers, mathematics, citizenship, honor, love, or a host of others. We can, and we do it by knowing Jesus, and Him crucified.

The world needs to know what we are, and so we must be, as conspicuously as possible, people of deep holiness and equally deep compassion, and so a true household of God. The world needs to know as well what we see when we look at them, and so we need to examine the world carefully, and just as carefully treat the wounds we see with the medicine of grace.

Distortions of the life of Jesus have continued to this very day, this very hour. The distortion du jour is that the person and work of Jesus can be safely ignored, and any benefits of His person and work can be adequately obtained in other religions or spiritual traditions.

The problem wasn’t that Jesus had not revealed Himself; it was that people didn’t want Him. They wanted somebody who offered worldly things.

No sentient adult today with a straight face can say that we are more intelligent, more just, more peaceful, more joyful now than before.

The words that Mary treasured and pondered in her heart are those that might be the healing that believers know them to be.
